Police say a woman pretended to be a staff member at a local assisted living facility and stole from two residents.
According to State Police in Butler, the female suspect entered a resident’s room at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Jefferson Township Sunday night through a patio door. Once inside, the suspect portrayed herself as a staff member and entered several residents’ rooms in the Haven 1 building. The suspect made off with about $120 in cash.
Police say the suspect returned the next day (Monday) and was able to use the same tactics to get inside residents’ rooms in the Haven 2 building. About $150 was missing from one resident’s wallet.
An investigation continues.
