The Evans City Seven Fields Regional Police Department is eliminating their K-9 law enforcement program and retiring their current K-9 Officer Chaos.
The police board voted 4-2 to make the move Monday.
K-9 Chaos has been on the force for eight years, which is longer than the normal five to seven year career of a police dog.
A new dog would cost $15,000 and officials decided the money would be better spent toward the addition of another full time officer.
