Authorities are continuing their search for a suspect who was involved in a chase that injured three police officers early Saturday morning.
According to our news partners at WPXI, officers attempted to pull over a stolen Nissan Xterra on Chesnut Street in the city of Butler around 2:15am. The driver, 27-year-old Joshua McBride of Butler did not stop, and led officers on a chase that continued on Route 8 towards Mercer Road. Spike strips were later used to slow down the vehicle.
After the spike strips were used, McBride then rammed into two police vehicles before driving into an embankment. McBride and his passenger, 27-year-old Ryan Wilson, then fled the scene on foot.
Authorities say McBride was later apprehended and taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment. He faces a laundry list of charges, and is being held at the Butler County Prison. Wilson is still at large as of Sunday morning.
Anyone with information regarding Wilson’s whereabouts is asked to call the Butler City Police Department at 724-287-7743.
After the chase, two of the three injured officers received medical treatment and were released from the hospital. The third officer refused initial medical treatment.
