It’s been six months since a woman’s body was found near the Oneida Valley Dam in Butler County and now, police have charged the man they believe was responsible.
Shaun Long, 49, of Emlenton is accused of giving Kayla Dunlap, 28, drugs back in September, that she then used, causing a fatal overdose.
Long is accused of then dumping Dunlap’s body along a road behind the Oneida Valley Dam in Oakland Township.
Police named Long a suspect in Dunlap’s death last year but charges were just filed this week. He is facing allegations including felony drug delivery resulting in death; two counts of felony hindering apprehension; plus several misdemeanor offenses including abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.
Long is being held in the Venango County Prison without bail.
According to court documents, officers were able to use cell phone data to determine Long was in the same area where Dunlap’s body was found, on the same night. A witness also told police that she saw Long give Dunlap five bags of fentanyl on Sept. 16, 2017 and when Dunlap overdosed and died, she helped Long dump her body “near a body of water.”
