Police are still knee-deep into their investigation of a woman from Butler who was reported missing 14 years ago, but who then resurfaced last month when she was named a suspect in the disappearance of her coworker in Florida.
Kimberly Kessler, 50, was born and raised in Butler. She was last seen by family members in 2004 and was reporting missing to the Pa. State Police in 2012. Police classified her disappearance as “suspicious.”
She resurfaced in late May when she was named the main suspect in the disappearance of her coworker in Florida.
While living in Florida, Kessler was using a fake name…and Florida authorities now believe she had 18 aliases and had lived in 33 cities and 14 states since the mid-90s. Police say she had several driver’s licenses under different names in four states and had been employed as a truck driver, a hair dresser and a restaurant employee over the years.
Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper told reporters on Friday that investigators have uncovered information about Kessler that he believes will shock the community once it is revealed.
Kessler remains in jail in Florida on a grand theft auto charge and is a suspect in the disappearance of Joleen Cummings. Police say their search for Cummings is ongoing but they have reason to believe she is no longer alive.
At least two of Kimberly Kessler’s aliases reportedly came from headstones in Butler.
