A Butler man who nearly drove into gas pumps at a Butler Township Sheetz had a blood alcohol level of nearly four times the legal limit.
The crash involving 50-year-old Lawrence Kopicki happened last on November 4, 2016. Through an investigation, Butler Township Police were able to determine that Kopicki’s blood alcohol level was .30 percent when he crashed into a protective pole at the Sheetz gas station on New Castle Road.
No pumps were damaged and no one at the Sheetz was injured.
Kopicki was seriously hurt and had to be flown to a Pittsburgh hospital. He was charged with DUI and Reckless Driving.
