A dangerous situation in downtown Butler Tuesday was able to be resolved without physical harm.
According to a press release from the Butler City Police, the department received a call from the Center for Community Resources around 11:30 a.m. concerning a suicidal man that had just left their facility.
Officers found the man on the railing of the Wayne Street Bridge just after noon. Officers shut down the bridge to traffic and were joined at the scene by two case workers.
After talking with the man for about 25 minutes, the officers were able to help the man safely away from the railing. The man is now being provided with psychiatric care.
