Police in Armstrong County have charged a teenager with bringing a fully-loaded handgun to school Thursday.
According to Leechburg Police, an officer was called to Leechburg High School about 2 p.m. over reports of a student who was armed.
Police say they found the 13-year-old boy in the principal’s office when they arrived. Officers performed a safety pat down of the student and found he was in possession of a fully-loaded, semi-automatic, .45-caliber handgun.
Authorities say the gun had been stolen within Leechburg Borough.
The boy was taken into police custody.
The superintendent of the Leechburg School District says no shots were fired and other students weren’t in danger.
