Kids and families will have a new playground to enjoy starting this Saturday courtesy of a local charitable organization.
According to Butler County Commissioner Dale Pinkerton, “It’s all brand spanking new. We put sidewalks all around it, brand new fence, there’s benches, new playground equipment, all new swings in, we even have a big new charcoal grill there so people can have picnics. It’s really absolutely first class.”
Pinkerton is talking about the now refurbished Institute Hill Playground. The PM Rotary club will dedicate the playground in a ceremony Saturday at 11 a.m.
Donations to help cover some of the cost are still being accepted.
“Some of the bricks are going to be there. We still have a couple hundred that we need to sell. A brick is $75 and you can put your name on it or one the name of one of your loved ones,” Pinkerton explained.
The club has worked for over a month with area businesses and volunteers on the project, which cost over $100,000.
