Three men from Butler are facing multiple charges after allegedly robbing a man at a local playground earlier this week.
According to a criminal complaint filed by Butler City Police, 19-year-old John Chandler, 21-year-old Michael Hutchinson, and 22-year-old Andrew Hoy have been charged with felony robbery, criminal conspiracy, and aggravated assault.
Police responded to the East Christie Street playground early Monday (8/29) and spoke with a seriously injured man who had been robbed and beat up. The man told police that three men had given him a ride to the playground then robbed him of a watch, cell phone, and $80. The victim was then taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of face and head injuries.
A short time later police stopped a car with three male occupants speeding on Center Avenue. After smelling marijuana, police observed blood on clothing and took Chandler, Hutchinson, and Hoy back to the police station.
The men are currently in Butler County Prison awaiting a court date on September 12th.
