Planned Parenthood in Pennsylvania has seen a surge in volunteers since the November presidential election.
Sari Stevens, Executive Director of Planned Parenthood in Pennsylvania, says the group usually gets 20-25 new volunteers each month. More than 800 people have signed up to volunteer since Donald Trump won the presidential election.
“The outpouring of support that we’ve seen over the past two weeks is like nothing I have seen in my career with Planned Parenthood,” Stevens said.
President-elect Trump has promised to defund the health care organization, which provides STD testing and treatment and cancer screenings, as well as abortion procedures.
Volunteers run phone banks, hold rallies and lobby in the state capitol.
