A Pittsburgh man is facing numerous charges after he was arrested in a local operation by police earlier this week.
Butler County Drug Task Force officers were tracking a vehicle that had a history of traveling between Butler and Pittsburgh. On Monday shortly before 7 p.m. the vehicle was observed traveling north on Route 8 near the Greater Butler Mart at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation on West North Street. The passenger was identified as R.C. Lamar Wright Jr of Duquesne. A K-9 officer indicated a positive alert on the vehicle which was then towed to the Butler City Public Safety building and both motorists were taken into custody.
At the Butler City Police Station, a search of Wright revealed a large amount of cash and a brick of suspected heroin as well as what appeared to be a paper towel with suspected crack cocaine in his mouth. Wright has been charged with felony Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance and misdemeanor Resisting Arrest.
