A Pittsburgh man is facing charges in Butler County after stealing checks and cashing them in for thousands of dollars.
Middlesex Township Police received a call in early May from a man who claimed checks had been stolen from his mailbox and $1,985 was missing from his account.
Upon investigation, police connected the theft to 31-year-old Robert Felton Jr. of West Mifflin. Then police were able to find video evidence of Felton depositing the check at an ATM.
It’s alleged that Felton stole prewritten checks from a mail box and then rewrote the amount on the check.
Felton is facing several charges including forgery. Felton was originally in the Allegheny County Prison but has since been moved to the Butler County Prison with a $10,000 bail amount.
