Doctors have told Pitt running back James Conner he is cancer free six months after he had been diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma. Even while receiving chemotherapy treatments, Conner maintained participation in workouts with the Panthers with the intention of playing football this fall. Conner suffered a season-ending knee injury early last season.
