The Pitt men’s basketball team was selected as a 10th seed in the NCAA basketball tournament Eastern Region. The Panthers will meet Wisconsin Friday night in St. Louis. Pitt is 21-11 overall. The Badgers, a number seven seed are 20-12.
West Virginia was selected as a number three seed in the Eastern Region and will meet Stephen F. Austin Friday night.
Kansas, North Carolina, Virginia and Oregon were selected as number-one seeds.

The women’s NCAA tournament field will be announced tonight. Duquesne expects to be included in the field. The Robert Morris women also clinched a bid with a 56-51 win over Sacred Heart Sunday in the NorthEast Conference tournament championship.
