The Pitt men’s basketball team defeated Gardner-Webb 99-80 last night and improved to 2-0 under first-year head coach Kevin Stallings. Mike Young and Cam Johnson led the Panthers with 18 points each.
Pitt senior forward Mike Young was named ACC co-player of the week with North Carolina’s Joel Berry, II.
The latest A.P. men’s basketball rankings has Duke continuing to hold the top spot, followed by Kentucky. Defending champion Villanova moved up to third, after Kansas was one of three ranked teams to lose last week after the initial poll came out.
