Virginia Tech defeated Pitt 39-36 last night at Heinz Field. It was the first time the Hokies ever won a game in Pittsburgh. Virginia Tech threw for 406 yards. They scored only three touchdowns, but kicked six field goals. Pitt running back James Conner carried the ball 19 times for 141 yards, and moved into second place on the Panthers all-time rushing list behind Tony Dorsett. Conner now has 3,313 yards in his career, despite missing all but one game last year after suffering a knee injury, and battling Hodgkin lymphoma prior to this season.
