College Football Saturday:
–Pitt defeated California 17-15 to improve to 6-0 this season. The last time they reached that mark, Dan Marino was their quarterback. The Panthers have moved up to #20 in the nation this week. They are off until they host Syracuse at Acrisure Stadium on Thursday, October 24th.
–Penn State defeated USC 33-30 in overtime and also improved to 6-0 this season.The Nittany Lions are now ranked #3 this week. Texas remains #1, followed by Oregon, who defeated Ohio State 32-31 Saturday night. The Buckeyes fell to #4, while Georgia remains #5 this week. Penn State is off until October 26th when they visit Wisconsin.
–#6-ranked Slippery Rock defeated Gannon 35-17 in front of their Homecoming crowd to improve to 6-0. The Rock will visit California this Saturday afternoon for another Homecoming game.
–#7-ranked Grove City defeated Carnegie Mellon 17-10, also in front of a Homecoming crowd. The Wolverines are now 5-0 and visit Washington & Jefferson this Saturday night. W & J enter the game 5-1. Their only loss was to CMU in overtime.
