The Pittsburgh Pirates came back to beat the Phillies in the 9th inning, 8-7.
The Pirates entered the 9th inning down 7-6. Connor Joe and Andrew McCutchen reached base on a single and a walk, before McCutchen and pinch-runner Michael Taylor executed a successful double-steal of second and third base. Oneil Cruz then knocked in Taylor to tie the game just before Nick Gonzales sent everyone home with a walk-off single to left field.
Cruz and Bryan Reynolds led the Pirates, who collected 13 total, with 3 hits each. Rowdy Tellez also had 3 sacrafice flies in the game, a Franchise record.
The Pirates’ bullpen pitched 4 scoreless innings from the 6th inning on, with Carmen Mlodzinski earning the win.
The Pirates’ record is now 49-48.
