The Pittsburgh Pirates visit the Detroit Tigers tonight in the first game of a two-game series. First pitch is 6:40pm. Joe Musgrove will start for the Bucs. Matt Boyd will go to the mound for the Tigers.
The Pirates begin the night 8-6 and 1-1/2 games behind first-place Milwaukee. The Tigers are 8-7. After an off-day Thursday, the Pirates return home for a holiday-weekend series with San Francisco.
Milwaukee defeated St. Louis 10-7 last night. Outfielder Christian Yelich hit three home runs and drove in seven for the Brewers.
