Pirates pitcher Chris Archer was suspended by Major League Baseball for his role in Sunday’s bench-clearing episode with the Cincinnati Reds. Archer threw behind Reds batter Derek Dietrich, which eventually brought the players on the field. Cincinnati outfielder Yasael Puig was suspended two games. Reds manager David Bell received a one-game suspension for his on-field reaction to Archer’s move. Bell and Puig will serve their suspensions beginning tonight.
