The Pirates Thursday acquired infielder Jason Rogers from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for outfielder Keon Broxton and minor league pitcher Trey Supak.
The 27-year old Rogers hit .296 with six doubles, two triples, four home runs and 16 RBIs in 86 games for the Brewers in 2015, which included a .434 batting average over his last 28 games. He started 22 games at first base, two in left field and one at third base.
Rogers was named Milwaukee’s Minor League Player-of-the-Year in 2013 after batting .270 with 25 doubles, 22 home runs and a Southern League-leading 87 RBIs in 133 games.
