The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated Toronto 7-4 Sunday in Grapefruit League play.Sunday. Joe Musgrove went five innings, allowing just a home run on five hits. Jose Osuna hit his team-leading fifth home run of the spring. Francisco Cervelli added his fourth. The Pirates host Philadelphia today, then visit the Phillies in Clearwater tomorrow for their final game of the spring. The Bucs open their season Thursday in Detroit.
The Pirates sent outfielder Jordan Luplow and catcher Jacob Stallings to Triple-A Indianapolis Saturday. They also placed outfielder Bryce Brentz on waivers. They had acquired him from Boston in February.
