The Pittsburgh Pirates won their second straight game over the Philadelphia Phillies with a 5-2 victory last night. Pirates starter Gerrit Cole won his seventh game of the season, allowing two earned runs over six innings and striking out eight. Both runs Cole allowed came in the first inning. He also drove in two runs. Felipe Rivero earned his fifth save of the season, striking out the side in the ninth inning. The Bucs and Phils wrap up their series tonight at 6:05pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am will be 5:40pm. The Pirates head to Chicago after the game.
