The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Washington Nationals 6-3 last night. Gregory Polanco led the Bucs with a four-RBI night. He had two hits along with Corey Dickerson and David Freese. Ivan Nova pitched into the sixth inning, allowing three runs n eight hits. The Pirates bullpen pitched three-plus innings of shutout baseball. Felipe Vazquez earned his 19th save of the season.
The Bucs and Nationals play again tonight at 7:05pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am will be 6:40pm. Joe Musgrove will return to the mound for the Pirates.
