The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Miami Marlins 7-3 Sunday afternoon. Starling Marte had five hits and scored four runs. Josh Bell drove in three runs. Pirate starter Ivan Nova allowed three runs while pitching 6-2/3rds innings. He did not walk a batter and struck out nine.
The Bucs took two of three games in the series, and completed a 4-2 road trip. Pirate second baseman Josh Harrison left the game after being stuck in the hand with a pitch.
The Bucs host Colorado tonight at PNC Park. Game time is 7:05pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am will be 6:40pm.

Bartolo Colon of the Texas Rangers became the oldest pitcher to take a no-hitter into the eighth inning of a game last night. He was perfect through seven, before allowing a walk and a double to start the eighth against Houston. Justin Verlander of the Astros had allowed just one hit, a home run through eight innings. Texas won the game 3-1.
