The Pittsburgh Pirates were swept by the Milwaukee Brewers following a 6-1 loss at Miller Park Sunday. The Bucs held a 1-0 lead together into the seventh inning, before the Brewers blew the game opening with two runs and added another four in the eighth inning. The Pirates are now 4-1/2 games behind first-place St. Louis.
Pirate shortstop Jordy Mercer was injured during the game trying to turn an early double play. He is still being evaluated for a lower leg injury after being carted from the field. The Pirates visit Kansas City tonight. 8:10pm is the first pitch. Pre-game on WISR 680am is 7:45pm.
