The Chicago Cubs likely knocked out the Pittsburgh Pirates season with a 17-3 victory last night at Wrigley Field. The Cubs win completed a series sweep of the Bucs, who are now 10 games behind Chicago in the National League Central Division. The Pirates managed just six hits, while the Cubs pounded 20. Josh Bell hit his 23rd home run of the season for the Bucs. The Cubs had four home runs.
The Pirates are off today, and will host the Cincinnati Reds this weekend at PNC Park.
