The Oakland Athletics completed a three-game series sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates following a 4-0 victory Wednesday. The Pirates managed just four hits in the game, but still left 10 men on base thanks to three errors by the Athletics, whose pitchers also gave the Pirates four walks.
Pirates starting pitcher Quinn Priester had a quality start, allowing two earned runs over six innings.
The Pirates have lost four games in a row and went 1-5 on their recent road trip. They are off today and host the Colorado Rockies for a three-game series beginning Friday night.
The Bucs have fallen to 14-18 overall and now have the third-worst record in the National League.
