The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 1-0 in the 11-innings Sunday at PNC Park. The victory gave the Bucs a three-game series sweep of their cross-state rival. Josh Harrison drove in the games’ only run Sunday. Pirate starter A.J. Burnett tossed nine shut-out innings, but did not get a decision. Antonio Bastardo won the game in relief, his second extra inning win of the series. Bastardo was the winning pitcher in Friday’s 13-inning marathon 1-0 win. Gerrit Cole won his 10th game of the season Saturday in a 4-3 victory.
The Bucs are now eight games over .500 and six games behind first-place St. Louis. They host the Chicago White Sox tonight at PNC Park. First pitch is 7:05pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am is 6:40pm.
