The Pittsburgh Pirates swept their two-game series with the Detroit Tigers following a 3-2 win in 10-innings last night. Colin Moran drove in Adam Frazier with the winning run. The Pirates bullpen pitched four scoreless innings in relief of starting pitcher Trevor Williams, who allowed two runs over six innings, striking out six. Nick Burdi earned his second win of the season with a scoreless ninth inning. Felipe Vazquez earned his fifth save.
The Bucs improved to 10-6 overall, and are a half-game out of first place in the National League Central Division, after St. Louis defeated Milwaukee Wednesday afternoon.
The Pirates are off today, and open a three-game series with San Francisco tomorrow night at PNC Park.
