The Pittsburgh Pirates split a doubleheader with the Detroit Tigers last evening at PNC Park. The Bucs fell 13-10 in game one, before winning game two 8-3. Francisco Cervelli drove in six runs in the opening game. Jose Osuna drove in three runs in the second game.
Jameson Taillon struggled for the second-consecutive game, allowing seven runs on 10 hits over 3-2/3rds innings in game one. The Tigers had 20 hits in that game. The Pirates compiled 29 hits over the two games last night. Chad Kuhl earned the victory in game two, allowing three earned runs over six innings. He walked one and struck out eight.
The Bucs are 13-11 overall heading into the series finale this afternoon. First pitch is 12:35pm. Ivan Nova will go to the mound for the Pirates.
