He did not walk a batter and struck out 10. Pirate starter Ivan Nova took the loss. He allowed all three runs on six hits over seven innings. His record fell to 5-4.
The two teams wrap-up their three-game series this afternoon at PNC Park. The Pirates will travel to New York to open a three-game series with the Mets Friday.
Major League Baseball has suspended San Francisco reliever Hunter Strickland six-games and Washington outfielder Bryce Harper four games for their roles in a bench-clearing brawl Monday. It started when Strickland hit Harper with a pitch in the eighth inning.
