The Pittsburgh Pirates were shut out by the St. Louis Cardinals at PNC Park on Saturday night, losing by a final of 4-0.
The Bucs offensively combined for nine hits. Catcher Francicso Cervelli had the lone extra base hit for the Pirates, as he finished with a double. Jameson Taillon received the loss on the mound. He pitched five innings, giving up eight hits and all four earned runs. Taillon struck out five.
