The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the St. Louis Cardinals 6-5 in 11 innings Friday night at PNC Park.
In the ninth inning Corey Dickerson led off with a double as the Pirates trailed 5-2, followed by a Fransisco Cervelli single and Colin Moran reaching first base on an error. That’s when Jordy Mercer stepped up to the plate and smacked a bases clearing double off of the center field wall to send the game into extra innings. Starling Marte ended the game with a walk off singe for the Bucos second straight walk off win.
Trevor Williams will get the start tonight as the Pirates and Cardinals play again at PNC Park. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Coverage can be heard on WISR 680am starting at 6:40 p.m. with the pregame show.
