The Pittsburgh Pirates pounded the Houston Astros 10-0 Thursday afternoon. Josh Bell hit his 22nd home run of the season and backup catcher Jacob Stallings hit the first of his career. The Bucs also had home runs by Kevin Newman, Corey Dickerson, and Starling Marte. Former Astros pitcher Joe Musgrove picked up the win.
Pirates first baseman Josh Bell came up just short in a battle with Atlanta’s Freddie Freeman for the opportunity to start the Major League Baseball All-Star game in Cleveland in July.
