The Pittsburgh Pirates play their final preseason game today when they visit the Minnesota Twins in Fort Myers at 1:05pm. Thomas Harrington will start today’s game.
The Bucs open their season Thursday in Miami.
They lost to Toronto 2-1 Sunday afternoon. Bailey Falter allowed both of the runs to the Blue Jays in the third inning. He pitched five innings, allowing four hits. Jared Triolo had two doubles for the Pirates.
They were no-hit in a 4-0 loss to Baltimore Saturday. Paul Skenes pitched into the fourth inning of that game, allowing just one hit and striking out four.
As the Pirates prepare their final roster of 26, they have decided Endy Rodriguez will be the backup catcher to Joey Bart. They also have numerous pitching decisions to make, and have decided Kyle Nicholas will not make the opening day roster. He has been sent to Triple-A Indianapolis along with catcher Henry Davis.
