The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 8-1 last night to open a four-game series with the first-place team in the National League Central Division. Andrew McCutchen hit his 13th home run of the season and drove in three runs. David Freese and Gregory Polanco added two hits each for the Bucs. Pirate starter Gerrit Cole allowed just three hits over seven innings for his fifth victory of the season. Cole allowed just the one run while striking out five. The Bucs and Brewers meet again tonight at 7:40pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am will beg 7:15pm.
