The Pittsburgh Pirates cut 11 players from their spring training roster Tuesday. Among the players optioned to the minor leagues were Max Moroff, Christopher Bostick and Nick Kingham. The Pirates also released outfielder Daniel Nava, who recently had back surgery.
The Pirates lost to Boston 12-6 in Grapefruit League play Tuesday. Newly acquired starting pitcher Joe Musgrove allowed six earned runs over four innings. Outfielder Jordan Luplow hit his fourth home run of the spring. The Pirates lead the Grapefruit League with 41 home runs over 26 games. The Bucs visit Minnesota tonight for a night game at 6:05pm.
