The Pittsburgh Pirates were hit hard again in an 6-2 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies last night. Gerrit Cole made it through only two innings in his return from the disabled list. He allowed five earned runs on four hits and three walks. Jung Ho Kang had two of the Pirates five hits. The Pirates and Phillies play again tonight at 7:05pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am is 6:40pm.
Pirate third baseman Jung Ho Kang was named the National League Player of the Week. Kang batted .522 for the week with four home runs and 10 RBI’s over seven games.
