Austin Meadows went 2-4 with a stolen base in his major league debut with the Pirates last night but the Bucos fell 3-2 to the Padres.
The Pirates were unable to come up with the timely hits they’ve been coming up with so frequently this season and left 13 runners stranded on base in the game. Josh Bell and Corey Dickerson had the RBI’s for the Pirates in the first and third innings. Ivan Nova had a good game on the mound going six innings while throwing 88 pitches and no walks.
The Pirates intend to call up pitcher Nick Kingham from the minors to start against the Padres tonight. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Coverage can be heard on WISR 680am starting at 6:40 p.m. with the pregame show.
