The Detroit Tigers shutout the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-0 last night. The Bucs had five hits and struck out 12 times in the game. Starting pitcher Johan Oviedo struggled again, allowing four runs, three earned, on seven hits over three innings.
The Pirates are now 2-11 in the month of May.
The Bucs and Tigers complete their series this afternoon. First pitch is 1:10pm. WISR pre-game begins at 12:45pm. Rich Hill will start for the Pirates.
