The Pittsburgh Pirates lost their sixth game in a row last night, falling to the Milwaukee Brewers 3-0. Andrew McCutchen had three of the Pirates eight hits. Starting pitcher Jameson Taillon allowed two runs on six hits in his five innings of work. His record fell to 7-7. The Pirates have now lost 11 of their past 12 games. They host the Brewers again tonight at 7:05pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am will be 6:40pm.
Pirates catcher Francisco Cervelli has been shut down for the season. Cervelli has been on the disabled list since late August with a leg injury.
The Brewers are 3-1/2 games behind the Chicago Cubs in the National League Central with 12 games remaining in their season. They are two back in the Wild Card race. The St. Louis Cardinals have fallend to six behind the Cubs.
