The Pittsburgh Pirates lost to the Boston Red Sox 3-0 last night in 12-innings. Antonio Bastardo allowed a walk-off three-run home run. Pirate starter Jameson Taillon allowed five hits over his seven innings of work. He walked three and struck out six. Four Pirate relievers held the Red Sox scoreless until the 12th. The Bucs and Red Sox wrap-up their season-opening series this afternoon at 1:35pm. Chad Kuhl will start for the Pirates.
The Pirates home opener is scheduled for 1:05pm tomorrow against the Atlanta Braves.
