The Pittsburgh Pirates host the Chicago Cubs for a day-night doubleheader at PNC Park today. The first game begins at 1:35pm. It is a make-up game from an August rainout. Gerrit Cole will start for the Pirates. He was skipped in the rotation last week in favor of A.J. Burnett’s return from the disabled list. The evening game begins at 7:05pm. J.A. Happ will start that game. WISR 680am will join the game this afternoon immediately following “It’s Your Turn with Dave Malarkey”.
Tonight’s game will also be heard on WISR 680am beginning with the pre-game at 6:40pm.
The Pirates lead the Cubs by four games in the Wild Card standings, and the Pirates are 2-1/2 games behind first-place St. Louis. The Cardinals continue a 10-game road trip tonight when the visit Milwaukee. The Cards lost three of four games in Cincinnati to begin the trip.
