The Pittsburgh Pirates lost two of three games in Toronto over the weekend, including a 7-1 loss Sunday afternoon. Pirates starter Chad Kuhl allowed five runs in the first inning and took the loss, while former Pirate J.A. Happ allowed just one run on four hits over six innings for the Blue Jays. The Pirates fell to 58-60 overall, and four games behind the first place Chicago Cubs.
The Pirates are off today before heading to Milwaukee for two games Tuesday and Wednesday.
Andrew McCutchen had an injury scare Friday night when he left the game with left knee discomfort, but he returned to the lineup Sunday. Gregory Polanco re-aggravated a left hamstring injury Saturday and did not play Sunday. Catcher Francisco Cervelli is battling a hand issue and left Sunday’s game. Both may be heading to the disabled list.
