The Pirates added eight more prospects in the draft Monday. After selecting three high school players in the opening two rounds Sunday, they selected another high school shortstop in the fourth round, but the other seven picks were collegiate players. Four were pitchers, along with an outfielder, infielder and catcher.
Hempfield graduate Phil Fox, the Pitt closer, was selected in the seventh round by the Chicago White Sox. He was one of two Panthers selected Monday.
