Drew Hutchison was the starting pitcher, and allowed six earned runs on 10 hits over 4-2/3rds innings. He is battling for the fifth and final spot in the Pirates rotation.
The Bucs host Tampa Bay today and have six pre-season games remaining in Florida.
The Pirates made nine cuts Thursday morning, leaving 38 players in their major league camp. Among the players sent to the minor league camp were catcher Elias Diaz, infielder Max Moroff, and pitchers Brandon Cumpton and Edgar Santana.
