The Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-1 last night in the opening game of a three-game series in Florida. Pirates starting pitcher Carmen Mlodzinksi allowed four earned runs in the fourth inning after beginning the game with three scoreless innings. The Bucs scored their lone run of the game in the eighth inning. They had four hits.
The 1-4 Bucs and the 3-1 Rays play again tonight at 7:05pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 6:40pm.
The Pirates are calling up rookie Thomas Harrington to make the start tonight.
