The Pittsburgh Pirates fell on the road to the Washington Nationals on Saturday, losing by a final of 3-2.
Leading the Pirates offensively was outfielder Melky Cabrera, who finished with three hits, one run, and one RBI. Chris Archer was the starter for the Bucs, and pitched seven innings and struck out nine. Slippery Rock University product and current Nationals’ first baseman Matt Adams was held without a hit in Saturday’s contest.
The Pirates and Nationals will wrap up their series Sunday afternoon in Washington. First pitch is scheduled for 1:35pm.
